WHY

Because it's annoying.

HOW

Method 1

1. Start -> Run -> regedit

2. Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ConferenceLink and delete the IsShortcut value

3. Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DocShortCut and delete the IsShortcut value

4. Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\InternetShortcut and delete the IsShortcut value

5. Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\lnkfile and delete the IsShortcut value

6. Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\piffile and delete the IsShortcut value

7. Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\WSHFile and delete the IsShortcut value

Method 2

2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Icons ( Create it if it doesn't exist )

3. Create a new string value named "29" ( without quotes ) and set it to "C:\WINDOWS\system32\shell32.dll,52" ( without quotes )

REBOOT
